Sarita: - Uff, it is already too hot outside and now there is a power cut. Jalan bhaiya, it is too hot inside the classroom.
Jalan: - Yeah, that’s a real problem here. Every day, at this time, there is a power cut for 15 minutes. Already, the state government has declared that due to power shortage, there will be frequent power cuts in many places. Anyway, you people can roam outside for 15 minutes. I will tell Nilkamal Sir to start the class, after 15 minutes.
Sarita: - ok, Jalan bhaiya.
**********************
Arindam: - Hey, why you people are standing outside? Is there no class today?
Rinky: - he he he, go inside and get yourself boiled, he he he…We are standing under this shelter outside, because there is a power cut. We will go inside after some time.
Suhash: - Kya hua yaar, aaj tu class karne chala aaya. Kaal toh carrom kheltey waqt bahut lecture maar raha tha tu. Yesterday, Arindam was saying that he has done a blunder by taking admission in SAP classes, because as per his educational qualification, SAP will not provide him any decent career.
Chaitanya: - before coming to conclusion, why don’t you ask our Nilkamal Sir, about the career prospects which matches your educational qualifications? You better ask him today only.
********************
Nilkamal: - Good morning everyone. I know that it is too hot today. Maybe, who knows, this year will become the hottest year of the decade. Anyway, let us start our class. Is anybody having any question to ask about our earlier classes?
Arindam: - Sir, I have a question. Actually, it is a question regarding the career prospects in SAP. I have B-TECH (IT) degree in Graduation and currently I am going to complete the MBA Finance Post-Graduate degree. Now, where do my academic qualifications stands in the oceans of SAP careers?
Nilkamal: - Wow, that’s a unique combination. There are very few people, who have that kind of combination. See, for you such people, there is a new profession in SAP arena. For you, the best profession is to become a BexAnalyzer or Business Object Analyst. Let me explain you in details. See, in this course, you will learn about FI and CO. In SAP, the practical application of the subject ‘Finance’ is distributed in four parts. They are FI (Finance Integral), Cost Controlling (CO), FSCM (Financial Supply Chain Management) & Investment Management (IM). Now, from any business transaction to Journal Entry to General ledger entry to Trial Balance entries to P&L account, the FI rules the show. When the financial process gradually moves towards the validation of income and cost sheets, then CO comes into play. In the Balance sheet of any company, there are long term fixed assets, cash in hand or bank on the Assets side; and there are shareholders and vendors on the Liabilities side. These things are dealt with the help of FSCM. Now, what is left for you? The final valuation of long term fixed assets, capital budgeting and Return on Investment (ROI). These things will be monitored with the help of Investment Management (IM).
Paul: - but, Sir, the Business Intelligence has no role to play here? It is totally a finance related task.
Nilkamal: - Ha ha ha, boss, at the end of the day, the top management wants the MIS reports. How will you generate that, if you don’t apply business intelligence here? All the reports are generated by using BI tools, but, it also functions in three ways. In some cases, it is just data extraction, in other cases, it is just data modeling. But, if you want to analyze the generated reports in detail to determine the past trends for predicting the results of future, then you require the BexAnalyzer tools. That is where; the role of Business Object Analyst fits in. A person with sound knowledge in both IT and Finance is the ideal match for this profession. Arindam, I hope that I have cleared all your confusions. Take a short break and come back again.
